Couples Resorts is renovating Couples Ocho Rios, Jamaica's first all-inclusive Couples Only resort. The company plans to spend 15 Million dollars on the 59 year old resort that originally opened in 1949.
The resort will close on April 1st, 2008 and reopen on the 15th of December, 2008. Nearly every area of the resort will be renovated to make the resort more contemporary.

 Couples Ocho Rios Resort in Jamaica consists of 206 rooms and suites. The majority of the rooms are one of the first 3 categories listed (deluxe garden, superior ocean, deluxe ocean). Tips for Your Stay |

 After check-in at Couples Ocho Rios, make reservations for the Le Gourmet restaurant asap. Make sure you sign up for the complimentary excursions. Horseback Riding, golf, shopping trips, Dunn's River Falls tour (must see), glass bottom boat rides, Margaritaville shuttles, scuba, snorkeling, and catamaran cruises
Make sure you do the Dunns River Falls Tour, take some old shoes that you don't mind getting wet. Take some long pants for the horseback riding.
Make sure you take advantage of breakfast in bed one day (at least).
Golfers: You have to sign up the day before. You'll love the course. Carts, caddies, and rental clubs are extra.

A. Yes, the private island at Couples Ocho Rios is designated for au naturale sunbathing.
Q. How do we get to Couples Ocho Rios once we arrive in Jamaica?
A. First, go to baggage claim and retrieve your luggage. Then you’ll go through customs, which puts you in the transportation area. Look for the Couples Resorts welcome center. You cannot miss it. The Couples desk will give you a numbered luggage tag for each bag. Make sure each tag identifies Couples Ocho Rios as your resort. You might wait 15 to 30 minutes for all guests arriving at the same time as you, to clear customs and receive their tags. The Couples welcome lounge has comfy sofas, beer, water and soft drinks. They will then transport you via air-conditioned bus or van. Always verify that your luggage is on the vehicle before you get in. Travel time is approximately 90 minutes depending on traffic.
